Stephen Eros
Stephen Eros (Director / Music Director) Stephen is a native of Belleville, is a well-versed musician in classical, jazz, and musical theatre genres. He graduated from Webster University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance and faculty-bestowed honors in music. He studied organ with William Partridge, voice with Robert Ayllón, and jazz piano with Carolbeth True. In the fall, Stephen will begin the Master of Arts degree with an emphasis in Choral Conducting under the tutelage of Dr. Trent Patterson, and will continue to serve as Assistant Conductor of the Webster University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. Other new adventures for the 2013-2014 season will include singing and traveling to Carnegie Hall with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, and starting a new position as Assistant to the Conductor with the Bach Society of St. Louis under Dr. A. Dennis Sparger. An active church musician since 2008, Stephen currently serves as Organist and Choirmaster at Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church in Crestwood, MO, and is the current Sub Dean and Program Committee Chair of the St. Louis American Guild of Organists chapter. Staying connected to his hometown, he has been an active performer, board member, and advocate for the Philharmonic Society of Belleville, Masterworks Chorale, Belleville Diocesan Schola, and Brass Rail Players. He is a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 2-197, National Association of Pastoral Musicians, American Choral Directors Association, and the American Guild of Organists St. Louis Chapter.
Stephen Eros (Music Director): A native of Belleville, Stephen is a well-versed musician in the styles of classical, jazz, and musical theatre. Currently a candidate for the Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance at Webster University, he studies organ with William Partridge, voice with Robert Ayllón, and jazz piano with Carolbeth True. As a collaborative pianist, Stephen has worked for several local institutions, including Belleville West High School and the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University. Stephen was the Director of Music at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleville from 2008-2011, and is currently the Director of Music at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in St. Louis. In Belleville, he serves as a Vice President on the Belleville Philharmonic Society Board of Directors, and sings with the Masterworks Chorale and Belleville Diocesan Schola. He has performed the baritone solos for Fantasia on Christmas Carols (Vaughan Williams), A Spotless Rose (Howells), and the Fauré Requiem. He appeared as Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia - Paisiello) in Webster University Opera Studio’s spring production. His amateur and educational musical theatre credits include roles of producer, director, music director, and conductor. He serves as the Sub Dean of the St. Louis Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and is a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 2-197, National Association of Pastoral Musicians, and American Choral Directors Association.
